In-Character Information

Name: Kei Nate Nanjo [Nickname: Nanjo]
Game/Series: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona SEBEC route only
Teacher/Student/Other: College Student
Canon Point: A year after the first game.
Age: 18
Grade Level/Class Taught/Job: College student
Dorm or Living Arrangement: Dormitory please, I think Saff and I want him and Brown rooming with each other because we're horrible muns.

Personality: [REWRITE]
Nanjo is a strict young man, always saying the right things. He is a strong believer of what's right to oneself is also right for others. If what he believes is right, he will state that it is right. Who would want to hear the correct things all the time, though? Almost none of his classmates did before, at least. Doing things ethically right is something he always holds close to himself, especially after the '96 SEBEC scandal. The incident caused him to grow, and he has become more reserved with stating his opinions. This doesn't mean he wouldn't voice his opinions, though. Whenever necessary, he will make sure his opinions are heard and understood by others. He has learned to consider the other side's opinions before outwardly cutting it down, like he used to do in highschool. Representing the Hierophant Arcana, he does balance what's right and wrong and be the voice of logic when needed.

He's more of a thinker than a feeler. Logic, rational thoughts come before emotions. Although he doesn't strictly say logic is better than running with emotions, he is more comfortable taking a step back to process the situation in his head before taking any action. Reasonable decisions and options is what Nanjo likes to derive. If things don't go according to his way, he may get frustrated and will explain why he doesn't agree with the situation in his rather rude speech, but in the end he ends up sticking along with those he's close to.

Being raised in a closed environment, Nanjo has an extremely small amount of naivety with him. Everything around him had been taken care of by his butler ever since he was little. Of course, the sense of independency had come up during high school, which was why he had been so adamant on getting Yamaoka to go home so quick just before the SEBEC scandal started. After all that happened, though, he came to appreciate the support he gets from his butler.

A dickweed :| but nto a dickwipe. Or a dick.

Backstory:
Kei was born into the Nanjo family, who owned a large company called Nanjo Congolmerate. Early childhood days were extremely empty for Nanjo, for his parents were never around. An mansion with nothing but money and various things that his parents thought were necessary for him on a daily basis... along with maids and a butler, who he didn't exactly get along in the beginning. At first, he didn't mind the empty mansion. His understood that his parents were away, busy with their work. He didn't complain that he couldn't see them so often. It was how it was in the Nanjo family. It wasn't until his grade school days when things started going down hill.

Once he got into elementary school, he quickly began to realize that his family wasn't like everyone else's. Other students had their parents dropping them off in the morning and picking them up after school. Nanjo, on the other hand, had the butler pick him up and drop him off via a limo. Not to mention that all the other students didn't dare try to talk to Nanjo himself during school time... He spent time alone even at school. He knew exactly why, he even heard the parents gossip. His emotions said otherwise, though, but he had no way to deal with them other than keep them pent up inside himself. The rational thinking and the irrational feelings clashed against each other, causinng him to take the most irrational course of action: attempt to take his own life. Of course this ended with a fail when his butler, Yamaoka, came to rescue and scolded at him for doing something so foolish. After that, Yamaoka became the father figure for Nanjo. This incident made him realize how irrational emotions are, and kept distant from the sources of them, mainly other students. He spent the remaining days in elementary school, and all of middle school on his own. Things changed when he hit his second year in high school, though.

This is where the story starts. While they were in an unused room preparing for the sports festival, Brown and Mark starts to play around with a "Persona" business
and attempts to call this Persona being out. Skeptical at first, Nanjo was just watching everyone else make a fool out of themselves...until he catches sight of a young girl dressed in white. As soon as the girl appeared, though, lightning bolts ran throughout the classroom, knocking a few people, Nanjo included, out. He was one of the few who woke up earlier, but it turns out that all of them had a dream of a butterfly. Not really understanding what this dream meant, the main protagonist (MC), Yukino, Mark, and Nanjo were forced to go to the hospital by the school nurse, to get themselves checked up to see if there were anything wrong. The teacher also mentioned about a classmate hospitalized in the same hospital, and the group decide to visit her as well. On their way to the hospital, they run into a loner classmate, Reiji Kido. Without having a chance to have a decent conversation, he leaves. They also run into Reiji's mother, who kindly asks them to be Reiji's friend.

When they get to the hospital, they visit the classmate, Maki. After a short conversation, Maki collapses before she's rushed to the ICU. While they wait, an earthquake shakes up the entire building. After the earthquake settles down, they realize something had happened to the entire building when the ICU door opens to reveal a wall instead of the room. The group wander around the hospital in search for Maki and the doctor, only to run into monsters--no, zombies--as well as Yamaoka on the floor. Nanjo, caught in both surprise to see Yamaoka to be at the hospital, and in horror to see Yamaoka injured, rushes into fight the zombies. The remaining members get dragged into the fight as well, where they end up releasing their Personas to fight against the monsters. They defeat the zombies in the room, and Nanjo rushes over to where Yamaoka lay, to realize that he was on his last breath. As Yamaoka passed away, he left the final words "become the number one man in Japan," and Nanjo was left in depression. As his mind swam in the fear and lostness of being left alone once again, the other members dragged him about to continue their search. If it were not for them, Nanjo's life may have ended right then.

Eventually they find the doctor who was taking care of Maki. The doctor explained how they didn't know what was going on as well, and that they couldn't contact with anyone outside the building. The group decides to return to school in hopes of finding a means to get help. On their way out, they run into Elly who awakens her persona just after joining up with them. After she joined up with the group, they pass by the SEBEC building where it was closed off due to an emergency, as well as Reiji standing before the security officers. After watching Reiji quarrel with one of the security officer and leave, they leave as wel, and Nanjo scoffs at how badly the company was dealing with the situation. As they passed by a shrine, they find someone injured. It turns out that it was Maki's mother, and she pleads to take her to the police. She collapses due to the injury, but not only before passing the security card needed to get into the abandoned factory she escaped from. As the group decides to bring Maki's mother to school, Mark becomes impatient and runs off to the police station instead. Nanjo, becoming curious to get a better picture of what was going on, decides to follow after Mark. There, they find the police station to be overrun with monsters just like the hospital. Mark unluckily gets trapped in the jail while Nanjo escapes to run back to the school.

Back at the school, Maki's mother had been tended and the group were wondering what they should do next as Nanjo regrouped with them, where Maki shows up as well. Maki's appearance throws everyone off, but nevertheless they go to rescue Mark. As they return to the police station and head to the jail area, they also find Brown being caught also. They were confused, but before they could ask why, they were ambused and were forced to fight the chief detective. After they manage to beat them, they don't really get a clear answer of how Brown had got caught up in the mess. They decide to leave the police station after ransacking the guns and they part ways with Brown, who returned to school.

They head over to the abandoned factory. There, they find a hidden switch where a lift appears, bringing them to an underground facility that connected the factory to the main building. They make their way to the SEBEC builiding and get to the President's office where they confront Kandori, the precident of the company. Kandori mocks Nanjo and his now-dead butler, which causes Nanjo to snap and attack, only to realize that Kandori himself was also a Persona user, and a much stronger one at that. He leaves Takeda, possibly his personal bodyguard, to deal with the groupd. Takeda, though, was no match for them and falls defeated and the group chases after Kandori, who had made his way to the underground lab, where the DEVA system chamber was held. There, they find that the lead scientist was trying to own up for his actions and was trying to kill Kandori along with him using the system. While Nanjo didn't want to stop the system, MC does... or at least tries to. The machine doesn't stop, and instead the effects reverse on Kandori just before a little girl dressed in black appears. She yells at the group of trying to stop her dad, and uses an object to transfer them...

Back to school. But Maki is nowhere to be found, and as the remaining three wander around, they come to realize that the school wasn't the same school they were familiar with; some students' personalities were altered, as well as learning that the two missing students were in fact, here in schol. When they find one of the missing students, Yosuke, they find Maki there as well, and they learn that the school is another world, different from the original world the group and Yosuke were from. There, they also run into Reiji, who had been transfered to this world just before they were. Not having any other way, Reiji reluctantly joins, and with that the group starts investigating where the other missing student were. Their investigation cuts short when the girl dressed in black, who's name was Aki, shows up to prevent the group from doing anything by blocking out all the exits. The group manage to undo the spell by defeating her, and Aki runs off.

After the school dies down from the momentairily chaos, the group head to Tsutomu, the infamous Devil-Boy in the original world. Tsutomu, who was acting nowhere like the geek-boy in the original world, explains in detail about the parallel worlds as well as the demon occurance that started occurring in the world they were now in. After getting a better picture of what was going on, Yosuke requests the group to rescue Chisato, the other msising student, who had been kidnapped and taken to the Black Market. This news was the only lead to reach Kandori, so the group leaves the school to head for the Black Market area. On the way, they stop by a shrine where they run into Philemon once again, where he talks about the historical society to find the Expel Mirror that will assist them in their journey. They do so, and head to the subway that connects the east side of the town to the west side.

As they got close to the exit, they run into Aki again, although she takes her leave quite early as she leaves Yog-Sothoth Jr. to fight against the party. They manage to defeat them and they enter the Black Market area. There, they hear stories about the Harem Queen and they decide to confront the queen to see whether she would know Chisato's whereabouts. They made their way through the maze-like pathways of the Kama Palace and reach to where the queen resides, only to find out that Chisato herself was the queen, where she was using a cursed mirror to get her wishes granted. They manage to undo the curse and Chisato is freed from the curse. Yosuke shows up, and they receive their 'happily ever after'-like scene as the party awkwardly left, but not only after they receive a new hint of where they can go to confront Aki and Kandori: Mana Castle.

When they reach the castle, they get a chance to talk to Aki again, where she says that Kandori is in fact in the castle, but cannot be reached unless they bring a key--the half of a compact--from 'Mai' that lives in the Lost Forest. Not having any other choice, the group make their way to the Lost Forest. There, after wandering through the forest, they find a Gingerbread House where a girl dressed in white. The girl asked a few questions to (the MC), and after the conversation was over, the girl passed the half of the compact to him, telling the group to never let Kandori get his hands on the half. They rush back to Mana Castle to open the door, where Nanjo finally starts to realize what Kandori had planned for them all along: to do his bidding of getting the other half of the compact so he can have it completed, to get his wish to come true. His dream, was to gain the powers of a God to control humanity. He gains a magical mirror that holds a larger power than of the compact. He quickly takes his leave as he summons a demon, Saurva, to deal with the group.

-----------

HAUNTED MANSION
Hariti is Mari's mom!!! Why do they decide to go to the Haunted Mansion?

Transported to Deva Yuga in the original world, where Kandori is waiting. BOSS FIGHT
Realize what the other world they were in really is.At least Nanjo. And then Kandori explains everything out before passing away. Mari gets confused and runs off to confirm whether what Kandori said was right.

She finds the real Maki on the patient bed connected to the system and breaks down before disappearing back into the other world, aka Mari's heart. The group goes after her and ends up at the Lost Forest, where they run into Maki's mother who was warped from the Haunted Mansion to the forest by Maki's will. There they (mainly Nanjo) argue with Mari and almost leaves without her, but she comes around to accept herself for who she is. They return to the Gingerbread House, where they talk to Mai. Mai explains of a way to save Maki, that they need to open the mysterious door that appeared in the ideal world's school library. To do so, they needed to go to the Alaya Shrine to retrieve the third compact from the "true" Maki.

At the shrine, they meet Philemon again, where he tells only (the MC) and Maki to enter the Cavern. The two come back after a while, (the MC) looking slightly different, for which he had met his other self deep within the cavern before meeting the true Maki to get the final piece of the compact to open the door they have found in the school library. They immediately set off back to the library, where they open the door to go to the final stage of their journey.

As they enter Avidya World, they run into true Maki, now turned into a grotesque cocoon-like being with the name Pandora, as she tried to destroy the world and turn it into nothing. They fight against her, in which she turns into a butterfly midway, but they eventually were able to stop her from destroying the world.

UH...ENDING.

A year passed from that, and everyone safely graduates from high school. Nanjo, rather than taking after the job as a salesman to work from the bottom of his family's company, decides to enroll into a college far away from home to gain more experience in life before he takes on after the company. Learning that Smash Academy also offers a college program, Nanjo decides to enroll into the school as a college student.

Anything Else?:
- The things that happened before the game (ie high school) is purely headcanon. If something comes up that denies of this, I will change it as accordingly.
- He addresses people by their last name. If you have a preference of how to be called, he'll go with that though. You don't hear him call you by nicknames, though.
- That said, he's usually referred by "Nanjo" by his friends. Only his butler calls him "Young Master Kei" or variation of that. He doesn't let anyone else address him that way.
- He is FROM THE PAST. He comes from 1997, so there's going to be a lot of things he needs to get used to.
- His blood type is A, DoB is 10/02/1979, and Zodiac Sign is Libra.
- He represents the Hierophant Arcana in his group, and is best allignment with personae from that arcana, along with Moon, Strength, and World
- He can carry up to three personas:
Yamaoka, his ultimate persona.
Vidofnir
(one more...)
- His methods of contacting demons is: bribe, pontification, condescend, sarcasm
Bribe: He bribes with either a signed photo, a coin, or land/stocks/others
Pontification: He gives a short lecture.
Condescend: Pretty much. Yeah. Puts down the demon woops.
Sarcasm: Straight-foward as well, says things that aren't even in his heart.
- He is able wield Japanese swords (or any broadsword, really) and a rifle. He rarely uses either of them unless the situation calls for it. His swordsmanship is similar to how a samurai would wield the sword.
- He actually has a motorcycle license and a bike already.
